Purpose: is a reach blocking drill that pits on blocker versus the other in a ring. It's a leverage and power drill similar to the king of the boards but designed for reach blocks rather than the face up heads up block.
Equipment: 4 Cones Procedure: Place the 5 cones in a triangle. Each of the contestants should start outside shoulder of the other. Players should reach block and drive the opponent outside the square to the designated win zones for each player. Coaching Tips: Start the drill with your cadence, encourage good technique. Alternate the win zone, alternate the starting positions. Coaching the player: Proper 3 point stance is a must. Proper footwork and lead step should be used. Hands up and inside to drive the player to the designated win zone. |
